English film festival held at Uttara University
The Department of English of Uttara University organised a two-day ‘English film festival-2012’ as part of learning through entertainment on July 10 and 11, says a press release.
The festival featured screening of ‘Helen of Troy’, ‘Tom Jones’, ‘The Old Man and the Sea’, ‘Romeo and Juliet’, ‘The Streetcar Named Desire’ and the famous Bengali film ‘Moner Manush’ directed by Goutam Ghosh.
Prof Dr Yasmin Ara Lekha, pro-vice chancellor of the university, was present at the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest while Prof Foyez M Sirajul Haque, adviser to the university, and Kazi Mohiuddin, registrar, were present as the special guests.
Chairmen and tea-chers of English and others departments also attended the function.
