China-Thai co to invest for jute products at Mongla EPZ
M/s Hua Xiang Jute Products Company Ltd, a China-Thailand joint venture company, will set up a jute products manufacturing Industry in Mongla Export Processing Zone. This joint venture owned company will invest 30.199 million US Dollar in setting up their unit and will manufacture Jute Yarn, Jute Cloth, Jute Bags and Geo-Textiles items. This company will also create employment opportunity for 3305 Bangladeshi nationals. An agreement to this effect was signed between the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority and M/s. Hua Xiang Jute Products Company Ltd at BEPZA Complex in the city. Md. Moyjuddin Ahmed, Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA and Chen Pingnan, Chairman of M/s. Hua Xiang Jute Products Company Ltd signed the agreement while Major General ATM Shahidul Islam, ndu, psc, Executive Chairman, Md. Shawkat Nabi Secretary, AZM Azizur Rahman, General Manager (Investment Promotion) and other Officials of BEPZA were present at the signing ceremony.
