Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) started their mission to tour in Pakistan in next April as they  requested the government to send a representative team in Pakistan to oversee the security condition and arrangement there. In this regard, the cricket apex body has already sent a letter on Sunday to the Home Ministry, said a high official of BCB.
“The letter has already sent to the home ministry to send a joint delegation of BCB and government,” BCB CEO Manjur Ahmed told The Independent on Sunday.
It is believed that the BCB tried heart and soul to arrange a tour in Pakistan regardless the sentiment of the players and the foreign coaching staffs of the team. Since the terrorist attacks on the Sri Lankan team bus in Lahore in March 2009 that left eight people dead and wounded seven visiting players and their assistant coach, thereafter no team toured in the country.
Yet the BCB took the risk to send the team there after the Pakistan’s support to BCB president AHM Mustafa Kamal, MP for the ICC president post.
PCB and BCB were supposed to nominate their candidate jointly as per the ICC’s rotation policy to elect the eventual president. Though BCB said that Pakistan’s support for Mustafa Kamal was unconditional, it is believed that PCB president Zaka Ashraf pushed Kamal to send Bangladesh team to tour  Pakistan. Ashraf vowed to resume international cricket in Pakistan once he assumed the post in top post of PCB.
In a latest development to revive international cricket in Pakistan, the country assured BCB to give the Bangladesh Cricket team a ‘Box Security’.
Pakistan promised that in a box security the visiting team would travel in bullet-proof and bomb-proof vehicles and the PCB will arrange two bullet and bomb-proof buses.
However rumors were rife that the foreign staffs and some players of Bangladesh Cricket team would stand against the decision to tour  Pakistan. They are now waiting for the decision of Government.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) governing body will name final list of the local and foreign players simultaneously on January 11 who will be auctioned for the money-spinning tournament.
The selectors have already made a draft of 120 local cricketers in four grades for the time being. However a selector informed that they will prepare a final list ahead of the scheduled time which will include 80 players in three grades.
The final scrutiny to pick up the foreign players for the auction will be made before the final announcement.
For the time being, the selectors kept just four players - Mashrafe Bin Mortoza, Abdur Razzak, Mahmudullha Ryad and Nasir Hossain in Grade A.
However they will bring further change in the list.
The BPL received the confirmation of three more foreign players on Sunday - Stuart McGill of Australia, Jeremo Taylor of West Indies and Wahab Riaz of Pakistan. They will be included in Grade A. A total of 80 foreign players will be auctioned.  Meanwhile a four-member team including BPL governing body chairman Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu, Dewan Shafiul Arefin Tutul, Mahbub Anam and Ali Ahsan Babu reached India to discuss with BCCI about the BPL.
The representative team of the BCB will also try to seek the support from BCCI about BCB President AHM Mustafa Kamal’s  vice-president post in ICC.
