IBBL finance to produce power from rice bran
After edible oil, electricity is now being generated from rice bran. A rice mill from Jessore namely Parash Auto Rice Mills is generating 400kva electricity from its bran with local technology at a cost of Tk. 2.60 per unit only. Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd (IBBL) has financed the project.
Whip of the parliament Principal Sheikh Abdul Wahab has recently inaugurated the Mill at Masharhati under Noapara while IBBL Managing Director Mohammad Abdul Mannan was present.
The mill needs 1500kg of bran in an hour to run its boiler. Adding 260kg more bran, Parash Auto Rice Mills produces 30kg steam which generates 400kva electricity. The Mill requires 700kva electricity that means more than half of the electricity need is met in bran technology.
Earlier, IBBL financed Rashid Oil Mills of Ishwardi which produces electricity from edible oil.
