Reconsider closing factories to save power : DCCI
The Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) Thursday expressed grave concern over the government decision to shut industrial units from evening to morning.

The DCCI believes that the decision will cast a negative impact on the country's industrial output.

The Dhaka Electric Supply Company Ltd (DESCO) recently served notice to the owners of mills and factories to keep their units shut from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am.

"The DCCI firmly believes that the decision will have a deep detrimental effect on the country's trade and economy, particularly on its industrial output and GDP," DCCI President Asif Ibrahim said in a statement.
