IBBL scheme makes poor woman self-reliant
  Rural Development Scheme of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) helped a couple in Arkandi village of Issardi gradute from share cropper.

Rekha Khatun took Tk 8000 loan from the bank under the scheme in 2005 by being a member of Hazrat Saba (R) Center and started cultivating vegetables in her house yard, said a press release from the bank.

She also took another amount of Tk 16,000 to buy a cow and Tk 24,000 to grow lady’s fingers, the bank said.

The bank quoted Rekha: “I have sold lady's fingers at Tk 30,000 so far and expect the rest of the vegetable can be sold at Tk. 50,000.”
