DHL opens new service centre in HK
DHL Express has opened a new international service centre in Tsing Yi, Hong Kong, and launched DHL Express 10:30 time definite delivery service to the United States, to meet growing customer demand on international connections and business flexibility.

With a total investment of US$4.31 million, the 4,500 sq m Tsing Yi Service Centre is a significant addition to DHL Express Hong Kong’s infrastructure. Complementing the two existing international centres in Cheung Sha Wan and Tsuen Wan, the new facility consolidates shipments from across Hong Kong and sends them via the DHL Central Asia Hub for distribution to more than 220 countries and territories covered by DHL’s global network, and vice versa.

Ken Lee, managing director, DHL Express Hong Kong, said, “The transportation network, proximity to the airport, and convenient reach to customer sites of the newly added DHL service centre make Tsing Yi an ideal location. This significant investment not only shows our continued confidence in Hong Kong’s potential for growth, but also underlines our commitment to helping customers connect to the world.”

With the new Tsing Yi Service Centre in place, it will increase handling capacity and improve operational efficiency by streamlining processes and resources. Equipped with advanced installations that enable more efficient unloading processes, the centre is expected to have a 110-tonne outbound capacity and a 50-tonne inbound capacity per day.

Earlier this year, DHL launched a new round-the-world flight from Hong Kong to Los Angeles to offer customers market-leading transit time capability and one-day express delivery service in major Asia Pacific cities. This flight has now enabled DHL to introduce the new DHL Express 10:30 to the US, a fast and reliable door-to-door delivery service with a full money-back guarantee in the event of any shipment delay.

With DHL Express 10:30, DHL promises to deliver customers’ shipments by 10:30 am on the next possible business day to all major business centres in the US, answering time-critical shipping needs. In addition to enjoying the latest possible pickup cut-off time extended to 22:00 in Hong Kong, customers will also be able to track their shipments in real-time free of charge and receive DHL’s proactive delivery notification to offer complete peace of mind.
