Port of Charleston April throughput up 7.7%
South Carolina State Ports Authority said volume at the Port of Charleston rose by 7.7 percent year-on-year to 123,439 TEUs in April, reported SeeNews Shipping.

The figure was the strongest April result since 2008.
For January-April 2012, container volume showed a 7.3 percent annual increase.

The breakbulk cargo's throughput grew 57 percent in April and showed a 24 percent rise in the first four months of the year.
