Fundraising exhibition at Gallery Chitrak |

Promising painter Khandakar Jamil Iqbal Azad has been ailing with cancer. He is now undergoing treatment at a Singapore hospital. To aid him, Gallery Chitrak in Dhanmondi, Dhaka has organised a fundraising art exhibition.
The exhibition features the works of Qayuum Chowdhury, Rafiqun Nabi, Samarjit Roy Chowdhury, Monirul Islam, Abul Barq Alvi, Abdus Shakoor Shah, Mohammad Eunus, Jamal Ahmed, Mohammad Moniruzzaman and Mohammad Iqbal. About 50 artworks are on display at the exhibition.
Proceeds from sales of the paintings will go to Azad's treatment.
Lawmaker and cultural personality Asaduzzaman Noor and Mijarul Quayes, secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, jointly inaugurated the five-day exhibition on May 23. The exhibition will continue till May 27.
Azad was born in Rangpur in 1981. He completed his BFA from Printmaking Department, the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka in 2006. |
