Daily sun: Despite being re-cognised as a huge employment generating sector and making tremendous contribution to meeting the country’s ever-growing housing demand, the sector has been confronted with various setbacks including legal and government policy-related issues. Would you please tell us the reasons?
Khalled Mohammad: The real state sector is a prime business that resolves the housing problem for all classes of people of a nation. As this is part of the nation’s betterment so the legal issues and government policies are strongly inter-related. These days, such matters are being handled with relatively stronger hand. In my view we should do things positively, and hope that new legal and government policies will help us to proceed smoothly once again.
Daily sun: As an expert, would you brief us major barriers to normal growth and further expansion of the housing sector?
Khalled Mohammad: There are few barriers but major barrier now is the country’s economic situation.
Daily sun: Sagufta NM Hou-sing Ltd. has already been recognised as a leading and sophisticated apartment building company in the country. Would you please mention the secret behind the success?
Khalled Mohammad: My objective is to give something better to the nation and do something good for the citizens. It has always kept me strong and inspired to achieve this success with full honesty and dignity.
Daily sun: What steps should the government take immediately to mitigate the housing sector crisis?
Khalled Mohammad: The government should have had reasonably good control over the developers and assist them to build a developed nation and fulfill one of the basic needs (shelter) for the citizens.
