A Dhaka court yesterday served a show-cause notice to the National Sports Council, asking the sports regulatory body why the existing voters list for the upcoming polls of Bangladesh Chess Federation should not be declared illegal.
The NSC has been asked to respond within 24 hours. The BCF polls are scheduled to be held tomorrow with 117 voters to elect a 25-member committee.
Enayet Hossain, a chess player, submitted the plea to a judge court complaining of irregularities in preparing the voters' list.
SM Kabirul Hasan, the legal affairs officer of NSC, said that they would reply accordingly.
