Renowned industrialist MA Hashem has been elected chairman of Janata Insurance Company Limited.

The company's board of directors elected MA Hashem as chairman of the company at a meeting recently held in Dhaka, said a press release Tuesday.

Apart from this post, Hashem currently holds posts of chairman of Partex Group of Industries, sponsor director of United Commercial Bank Ltd.
