Bangla Poetry Festival-1419 will be held at TSC auditorium of Dhaka University (DU) today.

Readers’ forum of the daily Bangladesh Pratidin ‘Bondhu Pratidin’ of DU committee will hold the event, says a press release.

DU Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Harun-or-Rashid will inaugurate the event.

News Editor of Bangladesh Pratidin Kamal Mahmud will preside over the programme while Chairman of University Grants Commission Dr AK Azad Chowdhury will attend it as the chief guest.

Former Professor of Kolkata Presidency College poet Dilip Chakraborty, Prof Khandaker Ashraf Hossain of DU English department and General Secretary of Paschimbanga Jatiya Kabita Parishad poet Shakil Ahmed will be present as special guest.

The programme will be broadcast live by the Radio Today.
