Intel-powered Orange Santa Clara will be launched on June 6 as the Orange San Diego
Orange UK has finally announced the date when Europe’s first Intel-powered Android smartphone will become available: June 6. Known until now as “Orange Santa Clara”, the handset will be sold under a new name: Orange San Diego.

That aside, nothing has changed since we last heard about the device. It features a 4 inch WVGA display, HSPA+, Wi-Fi, GPS, 8MP rear camera with Burst Mode (allowing you to take up to 10 photos a second), 1.6GHz single-core Intel Atom Z2460 processor, 1GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal memory. The phone will run Android 2.3 Gingerbread at launch, with an upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich scheduled for later this year.

Orange San Diego will cost £199.99 on Pay As You Go. It will also be offered on pay monthly, for free on plans starting at £15.50.
