NBR sends official on forced retirement on theft charge
The National Board of Revenue (NBR) on Wednesday penalised Assistant Revenue Officer Md Mojibur Rahman on a theft charge by sending him into forced retirement as per the Government Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules 1985, Rule 4(3)(B).

Earlier, the official was under temporary suspension. In 2010, Mojibur Rahman was allegedly involved in stealing gold bars, gold chains or gold jewelries from the warehouse of Hazrat Shajalal International Airport (then Zia International Airport). After hearing and investigation, the revenue authorities decided to take stern action against the official for his 'misconduct' and corruption', who worked under Rajshahi customs, VAT and excise commissionerate.
