2 lighter ships sink in Bay of Bengal
Two lighter ships carrying cement ‘clinker’ have capsized in the outer port side area of Chittagong on Monday noon (June 12) due to stormy weather and high tides in the sea.

However, the crew members are safe.

According to port sources, two lighter vessels, Hazi Kayes and Olympic-2, have capsized right after sailing from Chittagong port towards Narayanganj. They were carrying raw materials ‘clinker’ for cement production.

Madina Group is known to be the owner of Hazi Kayes. The owner of Olympic-2 is still unknown.
