BD National Ins now in 'A' category
Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) has placed Bangladesh National Insurance Company Limited (BNICL) in 'A' category from existing 'N' category with effect from today (Monday), said an official disclosure on Sunday.

The management of the DSE placed the company in 'A' category as the company has reported disbursement of 10 per cent cash dividend for the year ended on December 31, 2016, the disclosure said.

The stockbrokers and merchant bankers are requested to abstain from providing loan facilities to purchase any security of Bangladesh National Insurance Company in between 1st to 30th trading day after change of categorization, starting from today (Monday) as per securities regulator's latest directive.

Each share of the insurer, which made its share trading debut in April, 2016, closed at Tk 19 each on Sunday at DSE, losing 0.52 per cent over the previous session.
